Paulo Coelho: The Alchemist
Unlike many of these new age uncultured people, I actually still prefer to purchase and collect books. There’s something about that new book smell that makes me feel more in touch with a writer’s story and effort. Weird? I don’t know… whatever. All you need to understand is that the kindle is the last thing you’d want to buy me because I wont use that thing.
After months of procrastination and also waiting for the hype of the book to die down, I finally decided to purchase The Alchemist on the evening of the 19th of March 2016. A purchase that left me wondering why I was such a stubborn person in life. It also turned out that that I got invited to this invisible Paulo Coelho book club where I’d earn my Paulo stripes and become a living breathing sales and marketing tool for Paulo Coelho, but…

Romans 12 states “Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment, in accordance with the measure of faith God has given you”
When I look at this scripture, I used to think that I shouldn’t think highly of myself, really I thought so! It took some rereading the scripture and thinking thoroughly about what Paul meant when he wrote this…man Paul is a deep man. Read the rest of this entry »

Very few men understand or even appreciate the art of chivalry, because if they did, their game would be on a 1000, just like our granddad’s were, who we now call ‘old school players’. Women aren’t all wooed by money; chivalry has always done the trick. I’m going to share 5 chivalrous moves, fool proof to impress for success in your dating life.

The Black Middle Class Illusion
Post-Apartheid South Africa has established a new classification of its own citizens by their economic status, talk of a confused country, by now there should be a balance between the Rich and Poor or attempts to achieve it, but nooo!! It’s rather used as a tool to measure who is the target market. One can quote Steve Biko and question if the struggle had direction or if someone along the lines forgot about such directions and formulated their own direction. Let us leave politics to politicians. Read the rest of this entry »
“There can be no happiness if the things we believe in are different from the things we do”-Freya Stark
Imagine yourself, fresh out of university in South Africa. Bright- eyed, bushy tailed. You’ve graduated with an Accounting degree and well on your way to becoming a member of the prestigious South African Institute of Chartered Accountants. In just a few more year, with your textbook knowledge, eagerness and willingness to please, you will be steady on the road to financial freedom… by yourself.
You grew up passionate about getting that job at the back page of the careers section in the Sunday Times newspaper. A job that paid more than your South African mind could fathom. Because in your mind, all you could think it would solve was living a life that would make you comfortable. A life that could allow you to take care of your family and…
